EK Marble was launched more than 25 years ago to provide marble restoration services in southern California. Today, we provide marble restoration, granite restoration, terrazzo restoration, limestone restoration, travertine restoration & tile and grout restoration services throughout Southern California. Today, EK Marble does more marble floor polishing than any other company in Orange County and LA County. We are marble cleaning specialists. It needs care and maintenance and can depend upon where it is used like  floors, walls, counter tops, vanities or showers. Marble is a softer stone and comes in many colors with different and beautiful veining.  Some is harder than others and can scratch, etch and lose its shine if not maintained. If you have a marble floor, wall, counter top, vanity or shower that has has lost its shine and beauty or is in need of restoration. Call EK Marble to refinish, polish, protect and restore your marble  and any other natural stone surfaces back to its original condition. Commonly marble is used for flooring, countertops, walls, showers, tub-surrounds, and columns. It is cut into large blocks for countertop and wall surfaces, cut into tiles as small as 1” mosaics and as large as 36” slates, as well as uneven shapes and sizes contingent on one’s project. The last few polishing steps are actually mechanically polishing marble. Once the marble exterior begins to have some reflective properties, the last step is to polish the marble with polishing powders. This step is actually chemically polishing as opposed to mechanically polishing, and should only be done after the honing progression. An etch mark on marble happens when an acidic liquid comes in contact with a marble exterior reacting with the calcium in the marble itself. If the etch mark is not too bad, occasionally polishing with a powder will remove the etch mark. However, if the etch mark is too deep, honing is required to eliminate the etch mark and then it can be polished. We have polished many different types of marble surfaces like marble floors, marble tables, and marble kitchen countertops. In general, mopping tile floors frequently with a neutral floor cleaner and a flat mop, will be the greatest and easiest way to preserve and beautify marble.
